Accumulated comprehensive income is same as other CI ?

Hi,

i wanted to know if accumulated CI means the total of OCI?

a summation of items on OCI (unrealizable g/l on available sale of sec, unrealizable g l on derivative, foreign currency n pension)

Please can you clear my doubt

thanks

Howdy!

It does.

My pleasure.

Thank you!

Wait guys,

Comprehensive Income (CI) = profit or loss (as reported in the Income Statement) plus items of Other Comprehensive Income (OCI), which get reported in the Statement of Other Comprehensive Income.

back2books,

did you mean Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income? if yes, than that’s ok. But you cannot state that CI and OCI are the same.

regards

True, but I’ve never seen “accumulated” used with any phrase apart from “other comprehensive income”. Perhaps I shouldn’t have assumed that that’s what back2books meant, but nobody ever says “accumulated comprehensive income” when they mean, merely, “comprehensive income”.

You’re correct to clarify it, however.

Absolutely correct.

True Magician, talking about accumulated comprehensive income (without Other ) would make no sense at all.

I meant accumulated other comprehensive iincome

Aha!
