Political Science 101: Many voters are more motivated to vote against someone than for someone. This is why so many ads are negative - gotta vote against tthat guy! Drive up the negtives. If he/she gets in, we are all screwed!
I know a lot of Hillary Clinton supporters. In fact, I am one myself. But I don’t know any who are excited about her candidacy. None. Zero. But she may very well win the Presidency. Both Trump and Cruz provide nice fodder to vote against. Hillary needs that.
^Yep, Hillary is very vulnerable, GOP could have had this in the bag if it wasn’t for the clown show that is going to make her look pleasant and even sympathetic.
I am completely dumbfounded by how weak the Democratic field was/is this year. Whoever is in charge of building the bench at the DNC did a terrible job. Extremely disappointing. Hillary is a weak candidate and very beatable. If she were running against a decent quality candidate, I think she would lose. To win, I think she needs a very weak and “scary” candidate to run against.
Message to GOP: Please please please nominate Donald Trump. The country needs him!!
She was waxed by a wet behind the ears junior Senator. Now the Democrats are touting experience as the most important quality. Have to love the bias of politics.
And why not? Wasn’t Obama completely unqualified, unaccomplished, and unready to be President according to Republicans? By that logic Hillary is most eminently qualified so shall we expect those same critics to line up behind her?
Don’t follow. How could anyone that believes the federal government’s role is limited by the constitution vote for HRC regardless of experience? HRC is on the opposite side of my three main issues, limited powers, willingness to enforce, not write, the laws, and restrained foreign policy. Given those criteria, who do you recommend?
The “man” is the oligarchy that is our political parties. Neither Sanders or Trump is playing nice. You can even see how Cruz is entrenched in the web of the power brokers. Most politicians fall in line once they get elected. You could even see that during the Republican debates. If you listened closely, Ted was called to the carpet when he claimed he was the only one that didn’t fall in line. The others said, “Oh, really, what about X? Don’t claim you’re not like the rest of us.” I think many people are looking for a spine regardless of the consequences. Chaos is what they want. They want the “system” rattled. I can relate. The very fact that we allow branding on the ballot pisses many off.
Do people just have unrealistic expectations of politicians though? I mean basically every politician out there has terrible poll ratings right now. It seems to be right across the world too since 2008. People are just angry and frustrated. No politician is good enough. Merkel was popular for a long time, but has lost that now with the refugee crisis.
Maybe we need to lower our expectations a bit. Sometimes when people talk about politicians, I swear they are confusing the President with God. They expect whoever is elected to not just solve all America’s problems, but their own personal problems too.
HRC is a he? And how does the link relate to HRC? In regard to abortion, I think parents should be given a year trial period. You can kill the little narcissist up until the first birthday. And Trump said the issue should be left to the State anyway and said he personally believes there should be some sort of punishment if it were illegal. Would be fairly silly to be illegal with no consequences.
Did you hear about the Trump fan that had someone walk up and sucker punch him for no reason other than he was wearing a trump shirt? Knocked his tooth out. This leftist trump haters are total animals. And the media doesn’t even cover them. It’s all trump bashing 24/7
Heard about that story, she is claiming the man groped her. Then another person used that as an excuse to pepperspray that woman & everyone else who was standing around her. These trump rallies are a terrible terrible group of people from both sides.
The pepper spray guy was a separate incident. He totally should have peppers prayed the woman like he did. He tried to walk away and she stepped up and punched him right in the face.
the AP report said “Police looking for Trump supporter who pepper sprays 15 year old girl.” zero acknowledgment of the fact he tried to walk away and she punched him first. Perfect encapsulation of the media bias against trump. They want to push the notion that all his supporters are awful people. Incredibly unfair.
Ok I wasnt sure if it was the same girl or not. Either way the punch is totally unacceptable (unless the girl was groped in which case she has the right to hit the person)
Either way the pepperspray is totally over the line as you impact not just the person you intend to stop, but everyone in the area around it as well. I assume if I had to go to the hospital as a bystander due to that I would probably be able to sue the individual that used it.
If you watched the video I posted you would see that there is a solid chunk of people at Trump events that are vile people. There is nothing that can undo that quote I posted, it was screamed at a person by a Trump supporter. Completely racist and ridiculous.
Certainly not all Trump supporters are racist idiots but racist idiots do tend to be Trump supporters based on his positions. Its not the media lighting a fire, it is showing the ocuntry the kinds of peple at these events. It happens over and over and over at these events, where there is smoke there is fire. That said in general the kind of people to go to these things are general complete morons. What real person with a job would waste their time going to a rally? For both parties these things bring in the lowest common denominator
