Amateur

As suggested by subject I am new to investment profession and finding it hard to get a desire job or internship. May be the reason behind this is local Market factor like I am from Pakistan hardly 5 to 6 IB’s. My Academic credentials includes: CAT certified Accounting technician (UK)

ACCA (UK)

CFA Level 2 Candidate. Questions from all veterans here are: What is best way to Get in.? (doesn’t matter whether it is internship or job)

If not in Pakistan where else?? (Don’t have nationality of any country other than home)

What if i join Local brokerage house?

Any suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks

Show me the money.

Step 1: Move to Karachi

Step 2: Get in to transaction advisory at Big 4, work for 1-2 years at shitty pay but you can leverage this experience to move into IB in local banks

I hate to break it to you but there is some bias against ACCA and towards IBA/foreign grads for such roles at Big 5, primarily because they don’t teach you soft skills in ACCA. However, boutique firms AKD/Arif Habib/Elixir are open to ACCA candidates. I have a few friends who worked there for a while and used that experience to move to better positions in large local banks or GCC region. But mostly I’ve seen CA/ACCA guys making move from transaction advisory at Big 4 to IB at local banks.

Just google the resume format. No need for cover letter, just write few sentences in the email body.
