Best sandwich in NYC

Went to Second Ave Deli at the old location many years ago. Excellent, but expensive, sandwich, as I recall. I took a look at their current menu. $20 burgers? Jeez I’m glad I don’t live in NYC anymore.

just no. a man who doesn’t enjoy a heaping pile of pastrami or other meat is not a man at all. i don’t think you understand the purpose of the deli style sandwich. it isn’t a sandwich at all. it is an excuse to eat 1 lb of meat with mustard.

Is anyone throwing this man a proper meetup? Where is the NY hospitality?

i remember i had a decent sandwich in montreal. they are known for their pastrami too

+1

I generally agree with all of Carson’s posts but this one is a severe outlier. Way off. Sad!

Lamazou in Kips bay has awesome sandwiches. It’s also a cheese shop

AND FRIES AND SLAW ON THE SIDE!!! :+1:

I think KMD is doing an AF meetup on 9/9 - 9/10/17

Are you one of those aliens Turd was talking about?

So what planet did you come from. What was the diet like… microorganisms?

I agree with Matt!

Dudes: I’m in NYC 23rd to 27th Sept .still sorting out flights etc but it’s 90% a goer.

I had 1lb beef last night, was so good I wish I got 1.5lbs

Saw some good cuts of filet at Whole Foods yesterday. Was only $30/lb

Pan cooked with olive oil and butter. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Fantastic. No mustard needed.

To be clear, I was complimenting the way that Americans do steak restaurants rather than the quality of the steak itself. You won’t get a better quality steak anywhere in the world than in Scotland.

Im in edingburgh this week and will confirm the above shortly.

According to the World Steak Challenge, which I know nothing about, it would appear that the Aussies produce the best steak in the world, although the UK is well represented.

Try Kyloe at the west end of Princes Street or the Chop House at Waverley arches. Both pretty close to the festival action.

They suffer from the aforementioned issues though, £30 for a tiny fillet.
