To be honest I was thinking about taking a break and doing L2 in September after passing L1 this go around. I graduated college in 2015 and have been a wholesaler for a year, to be honest studying for this kind of hindered my development at my job because I was so focused on studying and passing. Was thinking about waiting for Sept L2 and just hitting it hard and early May/June. I know everyone says knock it out but I’d rather be motivated and ready to study after a break then take it right away and not be fully committed. Wanted to see peoples thoughts, I know this isn’t optimal route but this doesn’t quite apply for my job right now and is more something that will benefit me down the road. Wanted some thoughts. Honestly what I’m worried about is them adding a whole bunch of new material or even another level and I get screwed. Doubt that will happen but really thinking about waiting on it.

Follow your instincts and do what feels right to you. I spent about 8 months studying for level 1 because I had a remarkably draining job at the time. Now I’m unemployed and have some free time lol.

My 2c would be to attempt CAIA in March as the material does not change for the September sitting. If you fail in Sept, you need to get the new books/articles. I

Even with any of the CFA levels in June? For me, I think stopping my CFA L2 studies to learn CAIA LV2 and the moving back to CFA would be a disruption. I am still on the September track I feel for CAIA LV2 when I can focus 100% on it…

CFA 2 is a beast. Don’t underestimate it.

I wrote CAIA L1 Sept 2011 . Completed CAIA in Sept 2016. Registered for CFA 3 2017

No need to rush and do both CFA and CAIA. Complete one then focus on the next. I would finish CFA then CAIA
