CFA L3 candidates, describe your feelings here

haha I was so ■■■■■■■ worried and I’ve been in such a bad life situation recently, especially in the month leading up to the exam. I am happy I have received some happy news generally!

I can definitely live with not knowing  I am just glad I passed, don’t give a damn about the breakdown although it is always nice to know! But I just want to know, why they did not provide it this time!!

Good luck, you will make it next time! Give it your best, you will be celebrating soon!

Did you guys notice that the pass rate isn’t at all irregular? It is exactly the same as previous years!! I thought it was going to be higher… judging by level 1 and 2 pass rates!!

Well they provide the breakdown for those who didn’t pass. I sincerely congrat to everyone who passed, lucky you. Still don’t know how I did that bad at the AM though.

Also since this is a “feelings” thread. I feel on cloud 9 haha. I do sincerely feel for those who did not pass, and if anyone has questions regarding the material I would love to clarify on any concepts. I can’t say how well I did on the AM, though which really sucks.

It is difficult to judge when you write and not just select choices… Although even with MCQs, sometimes you get fooled that you did well, and you just didn’t see a trick or something…

But with writing, it is worse, because you need to write a certain way to ensure that you addressed everything they asked for… and there is a chance that you didn’t do that… you may have known the answer, but you failed to express it the way needed for them to know that you know the answer… if this makes any sense.

I know that you are probably feeling down, but trust me, you will be fine. You are already very close, study hard and you will be celebrating very soon! And if I may suggest MM as a provider, this guy is a legend! I am so convinced that he is a big reason why I passed. Especially that I didn’t get a chance to have my essays corrected by someone, but I did watch his videos where he was correcting the mocks and showing us how to write, and I believe would have failed if it weren’t for this. So if you hadn’t tried him yet, trust me you won’t regret giving him a try. Lastly, chin up!

Don’t Worry Buddy Keep On Trying.

1- I Passed Level 3 on FIFTH try today and this is my first post since August 2014. I passed Level 2 on the FIRST try on July 29, 2014 and passed Level 1 on the SECOND try in January 2013.
2- I left the university after my Masters Degree with major in Finance in the year 2004 and start preparing for Level 1 in the year 2011 at my own without any coaching (used Schweser only for Level 1 and 2 and in my personal opinion USE ONLY curriculum for Level 3). I still have no job experience in Finance and passed all three levels at my own. My Only STRONG Suggestion for Level 3 is PRACTICE, PRACTICE and ONLY PRACTICE particularly for the AM part. In my previous four Level 3 Failed attempts, sometimes AM part was attempted only 50%, 65%, 75% etc and this was the major reason of failures due to poor time management. In December 2020, for the first time at least I went till the last question of AM part, though missed two or three sub questions of 3 or 4 marks.
3- KEEP ON TRYING YOUR BEST, ONE DAY YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

Well, thanks everyone for the encouragement, it won’t end up with this, I am giving another shot definitely. This is the first fail for me and what confuses me the most is that I managed to answer appx 95% of the AM and ended up being just above the 10th percentile. I was even thinking of a retab, but I presume it won’t add much to anything.

Since this is a feelings thread, I am quoting Phoebe from friends show:

‘I feel like I am Santa Claus… on Prozac… in Disney Land… getting laid.’

That happened to me when I failed level 3. I thought I had done very well. But bombed AM. I realized I wasn’t answering the questions correctly. You have to answer exactly what they ask for. Until I started doing old exams I didn’t notice the mistakes I was making. Get your hands on old exams, look at guideline answers and you will see how they want them answered. This is my best advice for you.
