Chiming watch in exam

I am using a digital watch to time each L2 vignette 18 minutes (banking any surplus time for harder questions) but when I reset the timer each time it gives out a small chime. I can’t silence it. Will it be disallowed in the exam?

I have no idea, but if it isn’t, it should be. I’d be pretty annoyed if I was forced to sit next to you.

Out of consideration for others, I wouldn’t use it.

From the CFA website:

  • Wristwatches (analog and digital) with alarms and timers silenced; however, all smart watches are prohibited.

So I guess bringing in a watched that can’t be silenced is a breach of the regulations.

You’re a brave, brave man if you bring it in anyway.

Don’t bring it! I guess you will see a clock hanging over the wall, I think that’s enough.

That clears it then.

I would be waiting for you outside the exam hall if you sat near me with a chiming watch during the exam.

#DanceOff?
