^ surprisingly enough my name is super uncommon within the general public because of my background. I have no first hand evidence of the same birthday though, just what I’ve been told by the border guard:

Border dude: We need to see some police clearance

Me: What’s the issue officer?

Border dude: Your name is flagged

Me: Is it the same birthday too?

Border dude: Yes…

Definitely one of the more cordial conversations I’ve had with a border guard. Those dude’s can be the biggest D*cks. Though I do give them a pass most of the time because of the shit they have to deal with.

Completely agree. That being said though, the 0.08% limit in the US or the 0.05% limit in the UK and Europe is a far cry from being drunk.

But more than enough to be impaired significantly.

It depends on the person. 0.05% < than 2 beers in 1 hr. For me and most people I know, that is not impaired at all.

This is your subjective opinion, or you’ve conducted controlled experiments to establish it?

Interestingly, controlled studies have found the alchol impacts the ability for one to realize if they are impaired. I think it’s referred to as meta cognition if I recall.

I’m actually shocked at the responses in this thread. I agree with Geo. Drinking and driving is plain stupid. This is not saying I’m better than anyone else. You can take risks on your own but when you do stupid sh*t that endanger others, that is just wrong.

LIke most of the overprivlidged white financiers on this website I have driven over the limit a number of times in the past. Not proud of it. Definitely something that worries me a lot. Better planning is definitely the answer.

Taking a cab is easy to do in a city, but a lot of people live in more rural areas where these are not an option. Best thing about living in a city is having 24/7 taxis to drive your drunk ass home.

I’m hoping Google cars solves this problem for all of us soon.
