Do you regret that you didn't go to Med School?

Somewhat off/on topic re US health care: I’m Canadian and there’s no shortage of people touting our “free health care”… I’ll leave out the criminal tax rates we pay for this free service, maybe for another time.

A friend of mine has been wait listed for over a year to fix his ACL. His work sent him to Houston for a few months and while he was there completely blew out his knee. Luckily the company had insurance in place for him. He told me he literally met a surgeon and had an MRI done the same day. Surgery the next morning and home a few hours later. This simply doesn’t happen in Canada. You wold basically need to be bleeding out on the table for that kind of service. He now swears by the US system and I don’t blame him.

Anyways, no I don’t regret not going into medicine in the least. Now what was I talking about?

Yea I like psychology too. But I end up diagnosing everyone I know. Anyways I hear crazy chicks are vulnerable and are best in bed. So there’s that upside

interesting take on Canada care. Medicare is the same way from what I hear.

My sister is a doctor, and she was very idealistic growing up, but now she has so much debt she just wants to stay in New York, Boston, Chicago and maximize her earnings to get out of debt. It’s a tough life. My cousin is a doctor in Sydney, same age, but he’s been working for years and has no debt. In Australia, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong… if you want to be a doctor you start at 18 with your undergraduate studies. That makes so much more sense.
