I think the short answer here is yes, drinking negatively effects any gains to be had from working out. But honestly, unless you are some type of competitor bodybuilder, strongman, etc. I say don’t worry about it and just enjoy life. You want to have a drink after working out? Go ahead, I would just recommend moderation like in many things in life…
Side note: The gym I go to (or did before all this crap), there were quite a few men and women who competed in local events and I have asked them this and I think to a person they all said yes to your general question. That said, most did say they drank but mostly on their off/rest days. Almost like it was their cheat meal so to speak…
