Does the CAIA open any new doors?

I would agree with former trader - these exams are hard but its not the intellectual aspect of the exams which is the most difficult; it’s the dedication, effort and consistency that is required.

On the contrary, I’ve met a handful of individuals who have passed L1/2/3 and make you question the difficulty of the exams. It’s the attitude that’s required to complete the exams successfully which is what stands out to me with respect to completing the CFA exams and CAIA to a lesser extent as you can write the exams twice in a year.

Exactly. What is difficult is finding the time. The material itself isn’t difficult.

I still think CAIA opens door. Blackrock, JPM, and Russull are only few examples of companies that put (CFA, or CAIA preferred) in job posts.

Yep; they advertise CFA/CAIA. But then they actually hire some MD’s kid, who has a degree in art history. . After you complete your CAIA, please report back to us on all the doors it opened.

go ahead and show me how you’ll understand complicated HF and arbitrage strategies with a half a brain!!

The CAIA does not go as deep as it should we these strategies…so you can understand what they say about these strategies with a half a brain…it barely scrapes the top of these strategies…it essentially describes a little bit of what they are…but not how they work in great detail.

With full CAIA? of course it opens doors!

I earned the CAIA several years back, and my experienence is that CAIA does not open any doors. I believe that the problem is that the pass rates for the CAIA exams are so high that (unlike the CFA designation), it cannot be assumed that a CAIA holder is a highly intelligent person. Anyone can earn the CAIA.
