The golden cuffs are off. I’m sensing book deal, Lifetime chic flic movie, Gerard Butler Hollywood Blockbuster movie, action figures, KKK endorsements, etc.
Out of work? He is getting 6 figure paychecks for interviews and people have donated half a million towards his support. Plus he gets a policeman’s generous pension. Sounds like he took a very lucrative early retirement.
^ You don’t get a good pension retiring before 30. None the less, I wasn’t aware he was getting paid big interview dollars, so my sympathy is less, though this man was still wronged.
Although Darren Wilson will surely be paid for a book deal, reality show appearance, and possibly porn career, I’m sure he wishes he did not shoot Michael Brown, accidentally or otherwise. He has received death threats and is publicly hated by large segments of the population, not to mention the remorse that he must feel following the incident.
I don’t think you get ANY pension when you resign with less than 15 years on the force. I’m only aware of one interview that he’s done so far and both he and ABC indicated that he wasn’t paid anything for the interview. Although he has not yet incurred any legal costs, I’m sure the civil suit for wrongful death is coming and he’ll have to cover those costs himself.
Darren Wilson spoke last week to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. Wilson told Stephanopoulos he would do “nothing” differently if he confronted with the same situation.
Three members of the House of Representatives did the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” protest on the floor of the House yesterday. Still think “thoughtful, hard-working members of the African American community” don’t have reason to doubt the validity of the grand jury proceedings? Again, I’m not saying the prosecutor’s office did a bad job or that the shooting was not justified, but not many people, thoughful or otherwise, are going to go to the trouble of reviewing the evidence presented to the grand jury. They’re going to watch Rev. Al on TV say the grand jury case was a scam, they’re going to see members of Congress protesting, and they’re going to see white guys on Fox defending the police and the prosecutor’s office. President Obama has asked people to stop with the violence and looting, but he hasn’t said the case presented to the grand jury was well done. AG Holder hasn’t held a press conference reassuring everyone that the grand jury came to the right conclusion. The only notable black person I’ve seen say anything in support of Officer Wilson or the prosecution of the case is Charles Barkley.
This is creating an unnecessary race war. What we need is a country to unite against, any of you hating anti-americans want to step up and help a brotha out (literally)?
Great. Now all I can picture is Charles Barkley laughing as he’s receiving all these free coupons from 7-11, and slobbering all over himself as he rolls around in free hot dogs.
