For L3 passers only - How many practice exams?

do as many as you can, very hard to believe people that say they did zero mocks.

3…I suggest you do all your practice from CFAI material, whether it be EOC problems, blue boxes or mocks

I think mock exams are overvalued and I’d rather spend time reviewing the concepts and EOC…the curriculum is big enough to get confused by additional input from the mock exams…

wow, good effort but I’d imagine you’re in the minority. the exam technique for the morning paper is essential and not doing any mocks is taking a huge risk in my opinion.

There’s a woman at my firm who doesn’t believe in doing mocks, she passed 1 and 2 1st time and has failed level 3 three times and I’m not sure if she plans to resit. I would seriously struggle to trust the judgement of someone who made that mistake 3 times.

This could also happen to someone who did tons of mocks, In fact, it happens every year. The point is to prioritize the learning over mocks, because learnig how to finish the exam on time should not take more than 10% of your total study hours. I admit that mocks are vital but make sure they are representative of the exam. Lastly, as I did not do any mock exam, I left the last 2 Q’s on the table. I didnt feel terrified as i was quite confident about the remaining 144. I passed with 6 areas over 70 in AM. The bottom line is do take mocks (preferbly previous CFAI exams) but make sure you have absorved the CFAI material. Note books and mocks may help you pass but being a charterholder with good depth of knowledge is a different ball game. This may be one of the reasons CFAI does not bother about 3/3 elite club.

I did some mocks besides last 3 years exams in addition to all practise questions in my study texts as well as all blue box q’s in CFAI texts …
