Erasable pen - didn’t know that these kind of pens even exist before I registered for Level 3…
I can recommend an erasable pen and made use of the “erase function”. Was very helpful for minor corrections of formulas or results.

I honestly didn’t even think of that as a possibility! I’m way binary on this issue.
any writing tool would be fine. I used #2 pencil and eraser.
I used a mixture of crayons and an mechanical pencil. Pens are so 2015
Used blue frixion erasable pen and it worked great! I think I ended up erasing a line or two couple of times as well. I bought a pack of 3 and used one of them while practicing mocks. These run out fast so don’t use the same one that you used during practice.
I used pencil and brought an extra eraser. Turns out I needed to erase a whole section to re-write something. If I had written in pen, I would have been in trouble.
plain old pencil. got a mechanical one, sharper and smoother.
3 sharpened, grey crayons.
#crayola
Old school staedtler 2B pencil lol, was planning to write with non-erasable pen like I practiced with but chickened out last minute.
I used a mixture of pen and erasable pen. Erasable for formulas and circles which I would possibly make corrections in a mess. Pen for the rest, especially for all the final answers. This mixture worked great for me. Everything went smoothly during the exam and good to know most of my writings would not fade even under high temperature.
Used Pilot frixion.
Erased a lot. It’s easy and clean to erase(did not run short of time)
Would not know if it erased on the other end!
( not a gr8 score in AM :5<50,2 51-70, 3 >70)
Passed the exam though,so the whole written piece disappearing in hot
conditions was not a factor.
Would recommend using them
just a pen
changed lot of times, clearly specified my final answer
Genuine advice ! Use non erasable pen. I used it for my exam and it makes all the difference since psychologically you know cant erase what you have written and hence dont spend time re-writing stuff. Remember, for Level III, time is of the essence.
Used pencils (clutch pencils) as was comfortable with them.
Know your material well and write with what you are comfortable.
The best advice I got was to use a pen. Regular, not erasable. If you make a mistake. simply cross it out. Is what I did.
There are no points for neatness. Erasing reducing the number of minutes (already limited) you have to attend to another question.
Using pencil, gives you the temptation to erase. My advice, is to practise using pen. All the best
Mechanical pencil. I never really grasped the hysteria about your answers possibly disappearing from potentially too much heat. Like these were being graded in the middle of the Arizona desert.
Blue Gel pen. The infamous Q1 on AM was complete warzone with crossouts, arrows, and redirections. But I managed to get above 50% on that Q - so go figure.
AM: Erasable pen
PM: Pencil
I used an Erasable pen for AM, passed with scoring over 70% on all parts except three for which i got <= 50%.
PROS : It is convenient to use an erasable pen
CONS : Dangerous, because you can easily erase the opposite side of the page if you press the eraser hard. I don’t know if it affected me, but i had to erase several times, including a half of a page and I did not have time to go back to check.
I also think that I write much faster with a regular BIG brand pen than with an erasable pen (Pilot Frixion)
I just used normal pen. I don’t usually change a lot after I write down the answer, so that works out fine.
