give me your blunt opinion

Hi all

Business analyst for the last 5 years mainly in risk management (XVA, wrong way risk), master of computer science , FRM charterholder and passed cfa level 3 two years ago.

located now in switzerland earning 900 CHF a day take home is 70% after tax and everything…

i want to move from IT to equity venture or portfolio management but i find it incredibly difficult if not impossible…

Is it a sound plan? are earning that good in finance jobs?

What is your expectation of earnings in these “finance” jobs?

900CHF a day? => 900*25*12=CHF270k a year ? Seems to me like you are already quite high in the salary range for any job in Switzerland.,It will be hard to negotiate something that high in VC or PM without previous relevant experience, you will most likely have to take a more junior job and the junior pay that come with it.

actually it is more like 900*240 + some extra.

Thanks for the input, confirms my suspicions.Given my current income i think that i will spend some years if i get to pm or vc to get to the same level

how much dat in USD?
