It’s not like they were purchased and then they changed the formula. Those beers are definitely representative of average American beer. Of course, they are not representative of the best of American beer, but they are still the top selling. Jupiler is the best selling Belgian beer, but I had never heard of it before I had to look it up to make this point.
Maybe I have not had enough of Euro and american Swill, so you could be right.
Ok this is apples to oranges. Paulaner Salvator and Chimay are not mass marketed yellow water.
I prefer lagers, but most craft drinkers like you like ales. I like the malty lagers like bocks etc…
Btw those who like Belgians, go to Trader Joes, some of their store brand beer is actually brewed by the reputable Belgian style brewer Unibroue in Canada. Look for the big bottles
When I was in my 20’s, drinking was pretty heavy. We were trying to do the models & bottles thing.
So I didn’t count the quantities, but let’s say a big bottle of JD minus shots given to random bishes divided by 4 dudes + the beers. Also back then (up to like 2007) smoking was still allowed in Montréal so we would of course chain-smoke. We’d end up being pretty shit faced and this would happen maybe 2 times per months on average.
I don’t do that anymore. Although I’ll occasionaly drink alot, I try to limit myself at bars and parties, like 4-5 drinks. If I don’t the hangover f**ks me up everytime and I ruin part of my week-end.
I think I’m gonna cut back on the drank for the next few weeks, at least. Ease out of the easy drinking holiday time. Gotta kick CFA studying into a higher level and get back to working out more and I can’t do that very well if I’m drinking all the time.
I stopped counting how much I drink about the same time I stopped bragging about how much I could drink. In this season, I drink a good bit. Xmas eve we have a party with a bunch of HS friends and their families. I’m going skiing with the inlaws over NYE, so I’d imagine there will be some decent consumption…depends how annoying the kids are.
