Grillo said she and her boyfriend were faced with a choice between a platinum, gold or silver engagement ring. He said he didn’t care which one she chose so long as it was the cheapest. Grillo did care, so she dumped him and invested the money for the wedding in Commercial Metals Co. a small-cap stock that made her as much as 300 percent in profit.

As her career in finance developed, she became determined to gain her CFA to gain credibility and recognition in the industry.

“I wanted those letters after my name so badly,” she said. “If it took me 80 years, it was going to say, ‘Sara Grillo, CFA’ on my tombstone.”

Very successful, but it looks like the outside matches the insides with this girl, both are unattractive.

If you have the nerve to criticize somebody else’s looks, then you must have perfect looks. For all of you who criticize this hardworking, altruistic, brave, accomplished young woman, go ahead and post up a picture of yourselves and let’s see how attractive (or not) everyone thinks you are. And the post your credentials and let’s see how they stack up to hers, too.

It’s in the eye of the beholder. Even if you don’t find her attractive, you have got to admire her confidence. How many of you had the guts to start a company this young in the middle of a recession?
