Interview Follow Up

so about a week and half ago i had a phone interview for an ER Assoc poisition. went well guy seemed to like me said next step is an in-office interview with the team get to know people, see how you fit in, etc and third round (if you’re still being considered) is a take home stock pitch you present to the group in a third interview.

guy i interviewed with is currently an associate he said he liked me, saw no reason why he wouldn’t want me to me come in for second round etc and would call sometime in the beginning of the next week (last week) to set a time up. i didn’t hear from him and didn’t want to press in the latter part of last week b/c our IB was having a big S&T party i couldn’t miss. still haven’t heard from this guy, and honestly based on our conversation i kind of expected him too.

should i be following up now and sending him an email or just let it be? (entirely possible they found some way better job candidates considering my background, although i felt it went well).

I would say, yes definitly do a follow-up! It shows you are genuinely interested in this position!

The worst is being told they moved forward with other candidates. In this case, you don’t lose anything and you can move on.

I gotta say sometimes what you FEEL during an interview might not be a reflection of the reality. The truth is there are soooo many people applying for one single position…

Anyways, good luck!

If it has exceeded the time he said he would get back to you, there’s nothing wrong with reaching out.

Follow up and wish him a happy Thanksgiving too

Follow up. The worst that can happen is he hired someone else or ignores you.
