Interview Ripoff?

If you want a better job, anything legal is reasonable. It’s an employers market and will be for years to come. Who cares if you have to lose sleep for a few days if you get, say, a 40% pay increase? Or more? I had to go through this sort of experience but it helped me to finally move from five figures to six figures. We spend years (decades?) in school and hundreds of hours on the CFA. What’s a few more hours if it changes the course of your career?

Plenty of useful things to do!

If a firm already exploits you like that during interview, you are set yourself for more miseries when you actually start to work there.

Looks like Black Swan completed a spinoff. ^^

Honestly, I’d rather do something like that than explaining to 10 different people what my biggest weakness is and how I work in teams.

“So what do you do for fun?”

My boss gave me a deadline to put together a model on XYZ company for next Friday. It’s a big deal, could be make or break and it’s gonna take a lot of effort to get it right. I’m shtting myself actually. We are talking bazillions. Hold on a minute. If I just get that interviewee coming in tomorrow to do it for me I can kill two birds with one stone. Genius. I don’t even have an open position. Think i’ll go and buy a new pair of cufflinks instead of working on that crappy model. Yes. Winning.

Smart guy, good work product, extremely knowledge, somewhat quiet, excellent taste in music.
