For an entry Financial Analyst position, how familiar should one be with VBA?
I got my MS Office & Excel cert for free at Robert Half 10+ years ago. Go learn it on your own, pass their recruiting test with 90%, then do the official MS test with them… assuming they are still sponsoring those exams.
Excel skills are usually required for back office processing or middle office valuations (pricing, P&L, etc). Nice to know VBA if you’re going to do Middle Office modelling, otherwise don’t bother…
CFA is good for everything. Even the IT guys I worked with at a bank had them.
Yeah our data analysts know VBA/SQL, etc. stuff like that. I don’t know any VBA.
