Least Douchey Luxury Sedan

What year is it? I really like 4Runners… My Jeep is more then I need 95% of the time, outside of the occasional camping trip, football tailgate trip, or really big Home Depot run that a car isn’t the best for. Truthfully the gas mileage isn’t that bad, I just don’t NEED it.

It’s an '08. Fantastic vehicle. I absolutely love it. But yeah, 95% of my driving doesn’t need it other than camping, Home Depot and the 3-4 weeks of the year that our roads are impassable by non-4WD/high clearance vehicles.

The gas milage is pretty bad on it though, about 14L/100km or 15-16mpg.

Their old one was a 03 or 04. The current one is a 12 (last year of old body style). Not sure how many miles are on the new one, but they’ve had no problems with it.

My dad put 450k on a corolla. The only work done was a new clutch.

^I used to think that I wanted to get a vehicle I liked and drive it for a million miles. But 155k into my car, I’m starting to realize that I’ll probably want to trade it in after a certain number of years, no matter how much life is left in it.

Since I moved to Midland, I only drive about 10k miles per year, so if I put 200k into a car, that’s 20 years. My son will be a junior in college then, so I think I’ll be ready to move on to another car, whether this one is alive or dead.

Where’s Blake when you need him for straight car talk.

^ Busy doing bodyweight exercises.

I wound up buying that Sonata tonight and picking it up tomorrow after work. Trading my 2011 Jeep for a 2012 Sonata and getting nearly $6k in cash on the trade. Feels good to get cash out on the transaction and have less money committed to a depreciating asset.

It and I will need to become fast friends, I’m going to be taking it for the 500 mile round trip to Dallas later this week.

congrats…solid whip

Well done. Keep me posted on your experience with it, I’m genuinely interested. Did you get the 2.4L? I think there is a turbo option in the US? Anyway, would really like to know how it works out for you.

Yeah, I got the 2.4. I test drove the 2.0T, but honestly I preferred the feel of the naturally aspirated engine despite the lower HP. 200 hp is enough in that car and is supposed to get better gas mileage.

I kinda like the new optima.

What color s4 you like? Alcantra interior? Stick or auto?

No homo?

OOC - what’s in Dallas that there isn’t in Houston? (Besides the awesomest football team ever, that is.)

Is this business or pleasure?

Business… going up for a work meeting for one day/night. Does anybody go to Dallas voluntarly?

I know what you mean.

My favorite part of Houston is I-45, because it goes to Dallas.

i really like the meteor gray. black is all good except in the northeast when your car is filthy 90% of the time. Have you been in one with the Alcantara interior? I think i prefer all leather. i’d go auto.

So, is S4 the new whip? Btw, I think the 2014 IS 250/350 F sports are rediculously sick. Go check one out if you havent.

i like grey. Buddy had one with the alcantra (like an 01 so back in the day). I loved that shit. Id have to go stick - more fun to drive imo.

is is for chicks
