That alone doesnt make him unqualified, it shows that he is a political hack. What makes him unqualified is that he has never tried a case in his life and isnt very experienced with law in general. What makes him qualified to be the judge of a wet t shirt contest let alone a federal judge.

The NRA is a political organization. Publicly espousing a political organization calls into question a judge’s ability to remain impartial in any matter that organization has a public position on. Hence, I don’t think it’s unfair to say supporting the NRA makes a person unqualified for an appointed judgeship. If the judgeship were elected, it would be less of an issue.

I don’t think so. He was a huge Second Amendment guy, which gave the NRA a hard on for him, but I don’t recall him ever publicly talking about them.
