Greetings @maxirun - the key in my opinion is to spot the command words. If they want you to list 3 points or elements, just list don’t explain. If they ask you to describe, then some brief description (1-3 sentences typically max). I don’t remember writing too much on any answer, if they ask to justify then I came up with the briefest justification possible that hit the mark but didn’t get into multiple proofs of the same concept. They will often ask for only one thing as the answer, if they want more then they typically will recite the number of things they want you to show. I passed in May with a minimalist approach to answers in the AM section, so it worked for me and probably many others. I can’t remember if I wrote much more than a couple sentences in each subpart. Just wanted to show them a correct answer without frills and on to the next question.
Among your mocks, I recommend you take the Kaplan CBT they offer right before your exam date. It isn’t the hardest mock but they did a surprisingly good job of replicating the computer-based experience you’ll have in Prometric in my opinion. Cheers, good luck you got this👍

I hear you man! This was my daughter’s birthday card to me this year after 2 covid deferrals. It’s hard to keep on trucking sometimes. I hope you stick with it and get your charter next time, but I totally understand if you refocus on your life.

Haha I dunno maybe she’ll see it on my twitter but she’s probably got enough great material to work with anyway. I just wanted to share that I totally understand family strain and pressure. My original plan was to retake in November if I missed the mark in May. But by the time August results day came around, I realized I would probably need to take a few months off and invest more into my personal and professional aspects of life. So many of us sacrifice so many things to do these exams, and we aren’t the only ones affected either. In my case, personal life had started to be like the Muppets “Mana Mana” song replacing the lyrics “mana mana” with “the CFA (doo DOO doo doo doo).” Cheers buddy👍

I have both finance and engineering background…I am a CMA …I didn’t have job for 35 days…so i was putting in 10-12 hours per day. I would say Kaplan is more than enough…but do EOC and CFAI questions…

This is hilarious… my kids are very small to draw or complain… i want to get it done with this ■■■■ as soon as i can hopefully in November 2021. Let’s see.
Even though its hard to open same book 5th time (2 fail, 2 deferrals) and in addition, i think my overall score was close to 65% still i failed, somewhere, i started to think its hard to even hit 65% in such exam because if even in ONE low weight topic if you get below 50% chances are that you will still fail that’s what has happened to me this time. Practically, its hard to expect more than 65% on average.
Worse part is that i don’t if failed because of CBT or not because there is no AM score on the result.

Take some steam off….If I were you, I would give myself couple of weeks to soak it up. And then think of November. The odds are stacked against you but if I may, don’t rush in. It might break you down to see another thin line ( sorry if I sound rude).

Change your groups here on AF. Leave the level 3 candidate group and join the CFA charterholder group.
I checked in my settings and can’t see where to do that?
Click on the 3 horizontal bars next to your avatar on the top-right of your screen. Then click “Groups” and you can make your changes there. Cheers
