Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who in 2016 met with Trump campaign officials in Trump Tower, charged in a separate case regarding New York real estate and money laundering. Charging document below.
FBI Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia
Thatâs the headline of a NY Times article published Friday evening. Link below. This inquiry was presumably folded into the Special Counsel investigation, led by Mueller, that arose thereafter.
Weâve had so many âbombshellsâ dropped on Trump over the last two years but nothing has stuck (and, to be completely fair, some was fabricated). But, this is different. If there are supporting documents and other witnesses not named Cohen that can collaborate Trump suborning perjury, thatâs a big deal. Youâll get republicans turning on him pretty fast if he clearly directed Cohen to lie to Congress.
For now, though, itâs a story broke by Buzzfeed which I have no confidence in. Iâm surprised they didnât make the article âThe Top 10 Reasons Trump Should be Impeached.â
Youâre confusing Buzzfeed with Buzzfeed news. The article writers were Leopold (Pulitzer Finalist) and Cormier (Pulitzer Winner), Iâd say theyâre at least a little bit past âTop 10 things to make MAGA supporters go crazyâ lists
And these Bombshells are still legitimate even though nothing bigly has happened so far. Weâve gotten multiple indictments, 70+ million dollars in revenue, and multiple additional discoveries. The issue is that this is complicated, hard to follow, and involves a good portion of the GOP. This is going to take time, and is confusing to most of the public. How long to do you think it took for watergate to really escalate? Iran Contra? Hell, weâre still waiting for Benghazi/Her Emails to have their âbombshellâ moment.
Furthermore, in what world does Trump deserve the benefit of the doubt? Weâve gone from âMy Campaign had nothing to do with Russia, I have nothing to do with Russia, 0 , none, period.â to Gulliani saying âI never said the campaign didnât colludeâ (he did). Look at what he did with stormy from âThis never happened, fake newsâ to his voice being on tape acknowledging the payment.
Literally he chose to lie about the crowd size of his inauguration.
The small loan of a million dollars from his Dad turned out to be $500 million and tax fraud. Trump lies, like, a lot. Whatever he says is irrelevant, since thereâs literally no way to know if itâs true.
No, Buzzfeed sucks and so does their news department. Theyâre still clickbait and they employ journalists with questionable pasts, like Jason Leopold. That is if you believe the Columbia Journalism Review to be a credible sourceâŚHe straight-up makes stuff up, a lot as it turns out. Read for yourself:
Now, donât confuse my skepticism towards one of the authors with wanting this to be false. Iâd love to see Trump ousted. Just saying, always have to check your sources.
The irony of getting caught trying to legitimize a fake Buzzfeed story about Trump as a legitimate news source after blaming lying Hillaryâs loss on conservativeâs willingness to believe illegitimate news sources about candidates is hilarious.
