The Gordon suspension is riduculous. For weed? Really? The NFL commish is a fool.
The NFL has basically admitted that they f’ed up the Ray Rice situation by implementing a new domestic abuse policy.
Including college, this is the 5th time Gordon has been suspended for marijuana use. While I agree that marijuana should be legal nationwide, it currently is not and he was not in Washington or Colorado any of the times he was caught. How many strikes do you think a guy should get?
I think he should get as many as needed to be on the field. He’s not harming anyone. I get the whole rules thing. I just think that it’s not like he’s using to enhance his performance. If anything weed probably slows him down a little so I feel like he should play. Plus he’s was one of (if not) the most exciting people in football last year.
In order to be fair–was JG suspended for a DWI or for substance abuse?
If it’s the DWI, then I get it. That could get somebody killed. And the punishment fits the (fifth) crime.
If it’s just because he failed a piss test, then that’s bogus. He got no competitive advantage, and as pointed out, it probably slowed him down, if anything.
^ To my knowledge, he was suspended for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. I don’t know if dui falls under that policy or not. The league also has a well established history of dealing out severe punishment when a player seems unable to learn his lesson from prior slaps on the wrist.
As far as smoking pot being a victimless crime, it really isn’t (assuming he didn’t grow the pot himself from seeds passed down in his family for generations). The majority of illegal pot in this country got here compliments of brutal Mexican cartels. So while the actual act of smoking that pot didn’t really hurt anyone else, the path it took to get to his ziplock baggie is saturated with blood. Again, I fully support the legalization of pot and mass domestic cultivation and when that happens suspensions for pot use will be stupid. That’s not the current environment though and JG has demonstrated on multiple occasions that he feels rules don’t apply to him. The league has now made it quite clear that they do.
Where’s Greenie and his now infamous declaration that Romo is the greatest QB that has never won a SB?
The Eagles already clinched the division.
What exactly did the Cowboys do for the 40 days of training camp and preseason?
On a side note- for a home game for “America’s Team” there sure looked to be a lot more Niners fans than Cowboys.
Funny how the Cowgirls lost solely because of Romo
You haven’t seen the GMEN yet. We look better at the run and secondary than we did last year. If we could get the passing game together we have a good team.
I have no recollection of yesterday. What happened?
(Seriously though, two defensive starters {including one of the best ILB in the game} blow their Achilles? WTF is that about? Chiefs are screwed. I’m in a downward depression spiral.)
Tony Romo leading the pack for worst QB in NFL.
One half against one of the worst teams in the league does not a season make, but I agree.
I see no way the Cowboys win a game this season. Nothing wrong with having players on an O that’ll always be playing from behind though.
