For obvious reasons other than it being a crime I have never looked at this child thing nor searched for it but I think it’s not that simple.IDK it’s just some pretty sick fcuk people are interested in.
It’s that simple. You viewed it. You committed a federal crime. They can and do prosecute. Prosecutors love low hanging fruit to keep their win rate up. The burden of proof is so minimal in these cases. Prosecutors love it. Did you think something else motivated prosecuters? Do you believe in the tooth fairy?
BTW it may sound stupid but what is the motive for making those movies? Where are they made ? I think eastern europe but that’s just my view biased from russian mafia portrayed in films and stuff.
In the case I heard, some images and videos were made by the parents. Both mom and dad involved. These were american families. So disturbing. The audio of the little girl telling mommy that it hurts and mommy just telling her to make daddy happy was enough to make you break down. The girl was eight. People are sick. I hope they are going after the abusers as well.

These aren’t “professionals”. They are really just sickos making them for each other. They share with other sick parents and then the images get in the web obviously. Not even a profit motive. Just a sick hobby. Don’t ask me to explain. I have no idea how people end up abusing their own children, or any children for that matter.
What if you accidentally view CP? Is that still a federal crime?
