Volunteered for a 6 month stint in Manila working in ops a few years back. Place is insane, had a blast.
I went from NYC to MIA… it is NOT easy to find a good finance job down here.
Have interviewed with a couple in the past 4 weeks but most of them were annoying “walk me through you’re resume” focused. As if I want to spend 45 mins out of my day explaining to someone what’s right in front of them on a piece of paper.
Most places want you to walk through your resume. Many people call this ‘an interview’.
Marathon\_runner: Iprofit4sure:Won’t move from beaches and virtually year round awesome weather for anything less than high 100s total comp.
… I have only a BA in econ from a decent lower caliber Top 100 state school high GPA and just decent work experience at a top financial services firm and now a small fixed income shop for the past two years.
No offense – I don’t think you’re expat material. Florida is probably the perfect place for you.

Not many shops really at all. Maybe what? 10? I’ve talked to some of them. A few had FO roles open but they were too junior (One was paying like 60k a year or something). Any advice on where to look? I would probably do Ft. Lauderdale also.

If you think the purpose of that question is to tell them whats on the paper then you are sadly mistaken, Mr. 3.94 GPA

I know the purpose, but there are far more important things to talk about IMO. I would have preferred a more technical interview so I think it’s OK to have a preference, Mr. Macca Flocka.
