To what extent shall CFA Program help me?

First of all I would like to wish everyone life’s best on Thanksgiving!!!

This is my first post on this space. Yes, I am an Indian and I also have seen many post asking if someone can get a job after completing this program or not. However I have few other concerns as well on which I need an unbiased opinion from someone who is aware of Financial (Investment) Industry at the time being.

I have worked for BPO (US process) industry prior to this and interacting with Americans I was so influenced by them that I got a strong liking towards America and Americans. Thus I decided that I shall do anything and everything to be in the States. Thus I was of an opinion that CFA Program would help me achieve this dream of mine.

So now I want to know what all qualifications and experience should I have so that I reach the ultimate place I want to, in short what does it take for an Indian (me) to be in the States.

I think what you need is not the CFA but an immigration advice.

In your case the only viable option is via marriage. Go marry an American have at least one kid so that you prove that you marriage is genuine and so you will enter America and became also American citizen. What more could you ask for ?

If you are married that doesn’t mean that you are dependent on anyone because you will be permited to work in the US.

Btw considering how many Americans you know and that you have worked with them, by now you shoud have found the way to arrange H1B visa for yourself !

The GC is also good but only if you win. You can win next May but what if you never win ? You cannot rely on a lottery !

I wonder who the hell put in your head the CFA as a way to help ypu immigrate in the U.S. ?!?!?

As Barney has mentioned…I think you need specialist immigraton advice rather than advice from people on a CFA forum.

bro do u want to be in the wall street n money to eb always surrounding u.

CFA is stressfull than it take sto study lol:)

the point u memtioned is that u would like to work for the sake of united states ppl, so CFA is good n fster option .

IF U COULDD CLEAR ALL 3 LEVELS IN INDIA, u cazn comfortably work in US dude.

i know they nice n frindly,

u only need to pass ur graduation , or be in final year of graduation as a QUALIFIER.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Getting a work visa is not so easy thesedays !!

You need to apply from here for a work visa and you need your appointment letter for that. Most of the finance firm don’t hire a employee without interviewing them via face to face. Other way is to an MBA/Msc from US and crack the campus placment job.

Good Luck

What do you want to do when you get here?

Answering that – in full detail – will go a long way toward telling you what you need.

Models and bottles are coming your way.

#DontStopBelieving

the easiest way to get into the US is on a student visa.

many companies are not willing to sponsor a H1B, so you will be at a disadvantage. It doens’t matter if it’s a ER job or back office, or corporate.

It is not enough to enroll yourself on some US uni to get automaticaly what would be F visa !

DHS can deny you a visa even if UNI offers you to study !

because it is a lengthy process and doesn’t guarantee that visa will be approved.

you can renew H1B visa max up to 5 years and you must stay with the SAME EMPLOYER or repeat the whole process again.

Durring that 5 years you must make your employer to sponsor you for GC.

Otherwise, bye bye US !

your spouse that you import with you in the U.S. will be on H4 visa so called devil visa because you cannot work on H4…

Best chance is to get some investment experience in India, do a top MBA in the States and hopefully get sponsored at a hacksaw shop below watermark. I know several people that did that from abroad.
