Toronto CFA holders/candidates - What jobs do you have?

Itera,

I read a post by you about a year ago stating you picked investment managers to invest in at one time in your career and then switched to er after two years. I do manager searches for pension plans in my current role and have been with the firm for 1 year now. Graduated a year ago from complete non target. Barely any alumni.

Can you give me some advice to enter er or buyside asset management and how u broke in. Thanks

Yeah exactly. Primerica comes to mind. And I actually had a sit down with a guy from Freedom 55 and I got that pitch. But the shit is so obvious. He said you get like $500 a month for the first 4 months while getting certifications, then you get $0 and you have to pay for all company expenditures, I think you even pay them for the fucking office. And the guy was like “who do you know in your family or immediate friend network that could invest with us”. I was like “wtf, Im not going to sell to my mom and friends”. I finished the interview and never called them again.
