If you have problem with memorization, wait until you get to Level 3. GIPS is an absolute beast in L3.

You cannot discuss what was or wasn’t tested on the exam.please be careful.

the most boring subject was Econ and quant @ level II. I simply did not understand either. flunked both but managed to pass. parts of FRA like IFRS vs GAAP, multinational ops,

Ugh. GIPS is right after ethics in terms of sleeping material.

Ethics is all nice and sweet until you get your first mock exam result.

The funny thing in all this is that you will have to unlearn everything about ethics once you get on Wall Street. Imagine telling your employer that what he wants to do is against the code of ethics of the CFA. Goldman and JP Morgan would have to fire all its employees.

Working on the street > CFA code of ethics.

Econ in Level I. I stabbed my book multiple times with my pen.

Actually, I did!!!

I also enjoyed:

  • giving a lecture on “insider information” to an intern who stupidly disclosed material insider information to his professor

  • telling one boss of mine (in the past) why I can not share any of the templates (it was assumed to be normal to share) due to the code of ethics but can any time build anything from scratch. If not for, the CoE, I would have no idea how to handle such a request very early into the job. Thanks, Code of Ethics!)))

I hate Economics. Yesterday, today and forever! I nearly quit my studies due to microeconomics boredom (the very first course!), but it got better along the way)))

Economics is not too bad. I did a minor in economics. If there were more jobs and opportunities in that industry, I would have done a major in it.

FRA definitely for me. I have too many nightmares from university about my IS and BS not balancing. I like Microecon but not macro so that would be second.

FRA is easier than the material taught in undergrad.
