anyone try tullamore dew? so smooth

is it?

This one is available S2000: https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/36367/glendronach-cask-strength-batch-6

This site sells by the Batch number. Batch 5 is out of stock though.

Over the winter vacation I had Ardbeg Corry vreckan. It tasted similar to Laphroaig but had a smoother finish, less medicinal tasting as well with a smokey barrel aroma to it. A fine sipper for a chilly winter evening.

Living in Whiskey consumption capital of the world, I did try to get into it, but it’s questionable stuff. Tastes like gasoline.

Prefer pure agave awesomeness. Last time I was in Mexico I had some of this, not really that expensive, and was quite tasty. Cool/creepy devil bat thingy too…

Thanks a million!

I ordered a bottle of Batch 6.

Now I have to wait.

Sigh.

This looks good. I am intrigued.

Peaty Laphroaig bros. Keeps me so warm on a cold winter’s night.

Laphroaig’s good. Very, very good.

I’m not a very experience scotch drinker, so I like a speyside because it’s a very mild kind of scotch. Cragganmore 12 year Speyside isvery smooth.

Hope you enjoy it! It’s a real treat. My impression was that it was excellent fresh out of the bottle, but (like most) get better with air (min/year rule). I had the last quarter dram with a drop of water and it opened up some more flavours on the tongue. Then I had to stop because if I bought any more drams I would have paid for the bottle already.

Let me know how you get on!

tapping a Laphroig 10 right now…how much do you guys usually pour and how many glasses do you drink?

Nice!..

Laphroig…the peat that’s a punch in the face

Get a Lagavulin 16 as well. That’s the peat that will mesmerize you.

The cask strength Glendronach just arrove (1:15PM local time).

I’ll let you know in a few minutes.

I had to look up ‘arrove’. You are correct sir. It is proper grammar. I didn’t doubt you, only had to verify as it is uncommon.

I pick up language subtleties from all over.

That particular one came from Support Your Local Sheriff, an awesome movie. If you don’t have it, get it.

This is very similar, in my humble (and unsophisticated) opinion, it tastes a lot like Aberlour A’bunadh.

Which is a good thing. Though it doesn’t justify the price.

I’m surprised to hear you say that. The Aberlour A’bunadh I sampled a few years ago was very sherried with some rustic fruity tones. That’s not what I got from the Glendronach, sweeter, lighter flavour. Perhaps it will grow on you?

I confess that I didn’t taste them side-by-side; I tried the Glendronach, and relied on my memory.

Perhaps tomorrow I’ll do a nice controlled, side-by-side comparison test.

Of course, that’ll be between taking the cat to the vet to get its teeth cleaned, meeting the screen door vendor (because our back door is an unusual width), driving to CSULB to collect the finance 450 textbook and the eggnog and Williamsburg orange cake paraphernalia, driving to CSUF to sign paperwork, collect my faculty ID, and purchase a parking pass, and so on.

Goodness gracious my life’s exciting!
