Why do people celebrate mediocrity?

re-read what you wrote calmly, and you’ll realize you sound way more bitter. I’m chuckling as I type this. yea typing a few threads sure wastes a lot of energy… a whole 30 seconds from the bathroom. and pain and crying? sure, from ROFLAO

Seriously, if you want to talk down someone, use your left toe to think if what you’re saying even remotely makes sense. The fact this is being hammered so deeply, obviously means I touched a nerve. I didn’t say anything negative to this guy and didn’t reveal who he is either. You want to have a legit discussion like some people have done, then good, but if you’re going to get emotional about it, then all reason goes out the window. It obviously has, so I’m done.

Rant and trash talk all you want, I won’t check this thread anymore.

OP is a loser. “never -had -inter cum” … why dont you tell everyone about your level 2 mediocre performance!!! how may times did you take level two? ironic??

Whoa why the hate?

I am about maximum enjoyment of my life. I applaud anyone else who does the same.

I can’t tell you how many people I know working in finance that hate their jobs but do it because of some sort of sick desire to be better than everyone (through having more money). If you love your job, great.

Not everyone is gonna be a master of the universe and go to HBS. Frankly I’m pretty happy with my mediocrity and don’t need anyone else telling me not to be. Besides it’s mediocre people like me that make all you Type-A mofo’s look so damn good.

Weak stormy.

“never -had -inter cum”

What?

wtf you guys talking about?

Hey, we’ve all had weak performance before. Just last week I picked up this hostess at a hard rock cafe I couldn’t get it up I was so drunk. She was literally furious with me.

lmmfao…now thats mediocre performance… My ex had the same thing happen to her in high school. She tried to f*** this football player. Dude couldnt get it up cuz i gues he was too nervous. My ex just randomly called him up and ask him to come over. The next day she told her friends and every one started to call him “soft”…

Now that I think of it…She was pretty slutty…maybe thats the same chick chicken T is talking about

LOLZ yes

bostonkev is back?!

Wow, I think this thread died right before I discovered AF. I would have jumped on this in a heartbeat!

But now it would just be beating a dead horse, and I think everybody knows my opinion on education.

But stormy, are you really coming on here and telling us about your girlfriend who called a football player to cheat on you? I don’t think I’d advertise that on AF. Makes it sound like you couldn’t get the job done yourself, so she had to call Mr. Softee.

I think she was already stormy’s ex…so not cheating…but in either case, stupid story…you just sound bitter she was doin someone else and you are trying to discredit him.

Anyway regarding this post…I’m torn, I see both sides, dont have a strong opinion on one or the other. I do get annoyed when parents tell their kids “Good Job!!!” after they effed up royally during any kind of sporting event…theyll never learn to be competitive that way…oh well it’s an American thing.

Also, one thing that does annoy me is people that sign their name with “MBA”…e.g. “First Last, MBA”. I dont know why, but it irritates me. Letters should come after your name for designations and doctorate degrees, not MBA’s…pretty soon youll see people signing “First Last, HS Diploma”. Youll find the people who sign their names with MBA are usually from these “mediocre” schools. Not all people from these schools sign their names this way because they know it’s obsurd but those that do are usually from the not so great schools, and that’s all I have to say about that.

^I agree with the MBA thing. The only time I see it are from people from crappy part-time programs, and they almost always work in a “soft” job, like marketing or HR. Most of my co-workers don’t even know that I have an MBA or am a CPA.

I use the MBA after my name along other accounting designations because I’m a young black male.I need all the credibility I can get because, here in the south, people have certain preconceive notions about blacks.

Credentials really mean nothing. Unless you are known by your first name only, you havent achieved elite status

You’re right. Madonna, CFA just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

I think Jay-Z counted as one name…But Jay Z does not…

I dont know if i agree with this…

Okay, if you are going to be judgemental on the school they attend, you can probably be critical on everything else.

People celebrate birthdays, marriage, new home, new born, new job, promotion, mother’s day… all of these are common and ordinary. But the fact people find the need to celebrate means they value those things more than others, or more than other ordinary days. so the part-time MBA may just be a new born for you (you’re thinking millions of babies pop out everyday), but it’s that person’s godsent.

Hahaha, yeah, a little game I like to play is everytime I see someone who has MBA behind their name on linkedin, I try to guess the school they went to and their job. 99 times / 100 they went to a school that accepts nearly everyone with a curriculum that is mostly concentrated with weak classes and work in marketing or HR. I admit I went to a weak program to do my MSF but the only reason I did it was to prepare for the CFA program, because their MSF program was based off the CFA curriculum, but I DO NOT put MSF behind my name and very rarely mention my graduate degree.

Critical group here. Why get a MBA if you are not going to show it off?
