England don’t ‘choke’. They perform exactly in line with their talent if you don’t buy the hype.
They have a good team this time but they have a rubbish manager. If the manager decides to unshackle them and benches Rooney they could surprise a few. Unfortunately he lacks balls so i doubt that will happen.
Uruguay have next to no chance, Barely made it in. If you are looking for an outlier south american team look at Colombia.
Argentina and Brazil are the favorites and you have a feeling Messi wants this. If he gets this, there is no doubting he’s reached the exclusive table occupied only by Pele and Maradona.
^ Nah buddy, It wasn’t going to take me where i wanted to go.
I asked around and everyone said it would have very little value in getting me a job. If i invest so much time over the next 3 years i’d rather do the CA. My friends landed gigs in Nomura Banking etc after finishing their course.I do have the books though, Read them at my own pace.
I do agree that in Indian context CFA is not that usefull.Since you have a B.tech may be CFA would have given you decent opportunites in quantitative finance sector.
Many IITians are going for CFA rather than PGP from IIMs.
Like i said, it wasn’t going to take me where i wanted to go. No one is going to give a fresher with a 6.2 Gpa and a CFA charter that has very little value an opportunity in Quantitative finance. Not when there they can pick from a talent pool of IIM Grads and CA qualified people. It would be a long shot and i wouldn’t want to invest the next 3 years at the minimum on such low odds.
I don’t know any IIT’ian who is doing CFA rather that IIM. That sounds like wistful thinking. My company has a few IIT’ians and those guys are fking ridiculous. One guy got 98 percentile on the CAT and turned it down because you need 99+ percentile to get in the top 3 IIM’s. The cost return for IIM’s is unmatched. I felt like killing that dude.
CA seems out dated…lol.Few of my CA friends are getting Rs.10000 per month and they are failing cfa exams…
IIM only matters if it is top 3(A,B,C).Rest like IIM ranchi is a joke. One of my IIM ranchi friend got Rs.50k per month in Mumbai (while it looks good but is below par as per IIM standards.)
CA people will hardly get quantitative finance roles ,at most they can hope for a decent equity analyst postion with ca +cfa under their belt.
The 10k figure is the internship period. If i remember correctly you need a couple of years practical experience after level 2 before you are eligible to take level 3. During that period the pay is low obviously.
Once you become fully qualified after passing level 3 the salary hike is extremely steep.
Lol, No it isn’t. Here is one survey, The median is somewhere around 600,000 per annum which averages out to 50,000 per month. Not bad at all for a 23-24 year old.
Anyway how far do people see Belgium going? For all their hype they lack any wingbacks and their central midfield looks dire. I see them heading out somewhere in Round of 16 or the Quarter-finals
Uruguay is an upper tier team, they just have no chance of winning. No idea why they called up five strikers, and Diego Forlan is at this point their equivalent of Landon Donovan.
Calling Belgium a “dark horse” is like saying Lebron has potential and may break out next season. Belgium is the hot chick at the party everyone is talking about and can’t wait to see. France, on the other hand, is the forgotten about librarian that spent the past couple years working out, getting a boob job, discovering makeup, and has left inhibition behind.
France has imploded at the last two major tournaments but they’re looking ready this year - even without Franck Ribery. Griezman is an exciting young player to partner with Benzema, they’ve got talent through the midfield in Pogba and Cabaye, and Varane will anchor a defense in front of one of the tournament’s best keepers.
Loved Columbia as a dark horse prior to Falcao’s injury. Chile’s got the talent to cause a few problems and, if they can nick a point off the Dutch, I’d see them through behind Spain in Group B. I’m also excited to see what Croatia brings to the table this time around. They’re a shoe-in for the Round of 16 and I’d like to see them progress further - it’s a shame they’ll struggle to build momentum seeing as they take on Brazil tomorrow night. Great first match tho!
The Dutch will be the tournament’s disappointment…
