Does anyone know what time tomorrow the embargo lifts on the 2018 syllabus?
Prep providers are able to start selling materials tomorrow but just curious if there is a time. Last year, I was able to buy level III materials with minutes of getting my level II results.
Also, does the CFAI make a formal announcement of the new syllabus? If so, when?
Wiley and KS have both started selling 2018 courses this morning so I’m assuming the embargo has been lifted as instant access to their products is available.
Anyone got any insight into what the new L III syllabus looks like?
Refresher readings on CFA Institute site are already marked 2018. They are Curriculum readings. And they are 2018 for several weeks by now.
Thanks but only available to full members and even then they don’t give a full picture of the curriculum.
I see. I thought it is available to candidates as well.
Agree, one must have full list of topics to reconstruct the syllabus. They don’t number readings.
Hoping we never have to look at the 2018 syllabus and curriculum!

I guess some very keen L II passers have already accessed the review materials for L III 2018 and know what next year’s syllabus holds…
Nope. They aren’t able to register until at least tomorrow, without registering they will not know what the new material looks like.
Not quite true MMitchell. They can buy a review course today and access material via the prep provider’s portal. Not the CFAI texts I agree but still enough in terms of slides and notes to see an outline of the syllabus. Trust me, I did it last year!
2016 - 2017 almost nothing changed. 2017 - 2018 might be changes. 3rd party providers should earn something.
This is like changes in iPhone design each year and 3rd party accessories.

Look at the footnote:
“* The content that will be released on late July 2017 is for unchanged content (based on 2018 CFAI curriculum). Revised content will be released on early Oct. 2017.”
Efficient Learning are always late. I’d bet money on the fact that KS are ahead of the curve.
Just asked, they should be ready by the end of the week. So we will all get to find out the syllabus changes at the same time!

Looks like major changes to FI and AA with totally new readings, and lesser changes to PWM and Alts.
They look interesting. Hopefully ill be reading them as a charterholder not a resitter!

I’m really not confident about passing and was having nightmares about a totally re-written syllabus. I hated FI and AA in 2017 so very glad to see the back of these readings. They’re the areas I need to work on anyway,
And here I thought Efficient Learning was late, oh wait!
