saw a dude with double calculators (which is still reasonable) and almost like 30 pencils in his hand. under what scenario would you need that many? people like that made me feel way under prepared…
lol… i saw a dude still writing when the annoucer said pencils down… no one proctor gave a damn…
I rolled with 4 because I wasn’t sure how much #2HB lead was in each one. I only had 1 calculator.
A dude where I took it showed up with only two pens. He had to borrow a pencil.
I had a guy sitting next to me who had like 6 spare batteries for the calculator. ))))))))))))))
Hey, if the first five go bad you’ve got to have a backup!
Had some dude offer to buy my backup calculator. It was a level 3 candidate LOL.
I used the special speed marking pencil made in China! Only one is enough for all the exams I am going to take for my entire life. I saw a person bring in a travelling suitcase to the exam hall…

Actually, I don’t know how to change the battery. Do i need a screw to open the back? I am not joking… i seriously didn’t figure out how to do it - that’s why i didn’t bother to bring any battery.

Texas BA II Plus
I have a Pro model. For TI BA II Plus you need a screwdriver, here is the link with instructions: http://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?JServSessionIdrootdlek21=6qfi8f3cc1.n6LzoN8L/AzOnMTOogTxpQOUtxCLbx0Ka0--&jfn=ZG585359C9BEC8A803CC119200FBBE7368CB45FCC4661375E80434353B027FA2457EA363350186697385081EA802890871ED&lepopus=6JGSklBoMKvKOTLBJMoFlYX4:S&lepopus_pses=ZGF0FD22C56145586B457AA926C582EEC7B887CC1B029CA99CF52ACEFA3FF26973FC3BE17F4F048B362FE30725FC661A0A98C54D3388275B51&nSetId=90693&nBrowseCategoryId=10698&cskViewSolSourcePage=cskmbasicsrch.jsp%3FcategoryId%3D10698%26fRange%3Dnull%26fStartRow%3D0%26fSortBy%3D2%26fSortByOrder%3D1
Thanks… I think it makes sense to bring a backup then (next year).
Some of these things can only be bought in groups. I could only buy a packge of 10 pencials and said, wth, might as well bring em to test center. I won’t use it aanyway. Who really uses pencils outside of school/cfa anyway? The batteries were probably on some kind of deal where you buy 5 and get it for the same price of buying 2.

I saw a person bring in a travelling suitcase to the exam hall… Well, that is quite understandable. If you have to travel to the test centre, you probably travel the night before and leave for airport/station straight after w/o returning to the hotel, take some staff to cram
I brought 10 pencils, all well-sharpened. I actually used five and this was for L3, which only requires pencils in the PM. Instead of wasting type sharpening, or risking running out of lead, or getting frustrated because my lame sharpener keeps breaking my pencil, I simply put a dull pencil down and picked up a fresh one. Some wiseacre always notices this each year (this year a proctor made a joke) but I’m not worried about looking like an uncool CFA candidate!
I was amazed at the type of pencils they make these days. Some of them looked so weird. One guy had pencils that looked like spaceships. Blew my mind
