Basically a dude went shopping (more likely trolling) at a WalMart carrying an AR, handgun, tons of ammo, and dressed in body armor and fatigues. Missouri has some of the most lax gun laws in the country so I’m not sure he actually broke any laws, but the article does say he was arrested. Maybe for something more like yelling fire in a movie theater than for the guns.
Anyway, even if it’s completely legal and especially considering the current environment, this guy is very lucky he didn’t win a Darwin Award.
i mean honestly if i was a radicaly libtard. this is what id do to prove a point. id test the limits of whats legal until they change the law to what i wanted.
its like when rich people like buffett collect social security. he doesnt need the money, but the idea that govt gives money to rich people is ridiculous.
School shooting today north of Los Angeles. Good occasion to post this cartoon again, which was originally published after the shooting in Tucson in 2011. I’ve posted it a few times in this thread.
I mean assuming I live to 80 and that benefits don’t change. You will come out on top of your social security payments. The issue is that we need the rich people to pay a higher amount since the population demographics has fewer productive younger workers. The boomers will force a tax hike to the rich or a benefit cut for future generations can’t tell which will win. Since Americans are easily fooled by rich people.
but let me just reiterate. Social security is not an asset. When you die, you do not decide who it goes to. Social security and Medicare is nothing more than a flat tax with a cap that benefits the rich. The rich essentially reduced their liabilities and convince you poor people to pay for the elderly. So yes daca members who prolly paid social security will prolly be booted before they receive anything. And the minimum wage earner also pays for social security and will prolly die from poverty before he sees a penny. While the old dude who is already rich and prolly useless will be subsidized.
They accepted sub-standard wages with the execration of compensation through the DACA program.
You can pay into something through more than just money and I respect the sacrifice our military members have made to this great country. What’s more American that risking your life to go to a war you didn’t sign up for? (I mean, they literally signed up for it, but you know what i mean)
Not sure what that sentence means, exactly, but they accept lower wages for several reasons and two really stick out: 1) “Sub-standard” is relative. What they can make here is way more than they could make in Mexico (or other Latin American countries) so it’s not sub-standard for them. 2) They generally don’t pay taxes since they primarily get cash-only jobs. I’m not complaining. We need their labor. Much like other jobs that are hard work with little pay (waiter, nanny, landscaper) they don’t claim all - or any - of the cash they receive. All the sudden, their wage looks much better.
I’m all for migrant workers (don’t really care about their legal status) and feel fine about whatever they’re getting paid. If it wasn’t worth it, they wouldn’t do it. Then we’d pay them more (because we really do need their labor) and they’d come back. Good old free market in action.
