About to graduate from 4th year University

Hi guys, I’m here to seek some advice for my career path.

Some background information about myself, I’m currently studying Business Management majoring in marketing in my 4th year, from Toronto. I’ve always been passionate about finance since high school when I started to look into investing in the stock market. Learned a lot throughout the years about capital markets and have real experience in trading stocks, options. So I have the motivation and determination to dive into the finance world and I am thinking taking CFA level 1 would help me open the door to the industry and also enhance my knowledge in many aspects of finance.

I would like some advice and tips from you guys if this would be an appropriate path for me as I will be graduating end of this year, so I plan to pass CFA level 1 this December so I can apply to entry-level positions in banks. I’m currently 22 and have no work experience in finance, but currently working as a real estate agent.

Thank you for your time.

Networking will help you more than taking CFA level 1. Find hiring managers in finance and meet with them.
