Accounting Knowledge beyond CFA for security analysis

Guys obviously CFA gives us some accounting knowledge that is useful for future security analysis work but does anyone else feel that one would benefit from a more thorough course in accounting for security analysis? Can anyone recommend a course that would give a security analyst thorough understanding of accounting for investment analysis?

especially i think when analyzing financial statements of banks and real estate companies a lot of specific knowledge is omitted from the CFA curriculum that would be helpful. when i start going through the JP Morgan financial statements for example, i feel there are still gaps in my knowledge. maybe there are some sector specific accounting knowledge that needs to be well understood that CFA believes it is not worth focusing but considering financials is a huge part of any equity index at the moment, i think we should have as charterholders all the tools to come to an informed decision about those types of businesses and what they are worth
