Best Advance Excel and Excel/VBA books?

Assuming I pass L3 this June, next on my personal development queue will be improving my Excel skills and improving my very basic programming skills. Any thoughts on best Inter/Advanced Excel books? Best VBA for Excel books?

I found the VBA for dummies book to be a good start, as it introduces you to the language in a logical way. Sounds like you may be past this point but once you have the basics you really need to be applying it to retain the knowledge. Ultimately it depends on your learning style, but I can’t understate the value of either learning from people you work with or learning by doing. On the Excel side, I would suggest buying books is a waste of time and money. I consider myself an advanced user and I have never opened an Excel book or been on an Excel course. My baseline assumption with any workbook is that there is always a way to make it more efficient - so take a look at the spreadsheets you use at work and think about how you can remove any of the manual elements or tidy up formulae. Also, there are numerous websites devoted to this topic and if I ever come across a particularly hairy problem I have found google to be a trusty resource. Cheers

use ‘search’ in AF liberally. you’ll probably want a “finance with excel” book, like Benninga. on the vba side, walkenbach is pretty good.
