I currently have been using a 12c hp for years. Do the newer hp calculators have built in formulas to make things faster? Or are they same with no npm? I also really like the rpm, makes tasks super fast.
Man go for the Ba2 plus professional. I’ve been using it for around 2 years now, Apart from its keys being a bit stiff it is easy to use. I took a 12c hp for a spin and IMO it has the worst functionality.
^ yep…and you get used to the keys and naturally end up punching harder with time. I don’t ever use my hp 12c. My company gives out both models for free, as many as we want. It was like christmas when I found this out, got my BA2 plus professional, back up BA2 plus professional, hp 12c, and extra batteries. I might ask for another BA2 just for the hell of it. I mean they’re like what $40-$50 bucks and look sexy.
Here are links to purchase…
The CAIA Association allows candidates to bring into the examination the TI BA II Plus (including the Professional model) or the HP 12C (including the Platinum edition). No other calculators are allowed in the testing room.
How about the formulas? Are there more formulas built into the baii pro plus vs hp 12c. I’m just looking for an edge. Cuz if they both have same built in formulas then 12c is much faster for me.
You get discounted payback period on ba2 pro plus…I dont believe you get that on hp 12c
I looked at ti baii today. I just couldnt bring myself to getting that thing. The buttons didnt seem to work as fast as the 12c. It also looked horrid. I think im going to keep my regular conversation piece 12c. In fact, I may buy another one for backup. Im so used to a 12c I think a regular calculator is just too slow for me. Very hard to go back.
I worked with HP calc in the past, but used TI Pro for the exam.
I found TI more convenient, as all keystroke examples in the study books are for TI.
HP 12C looks sexy but is not the highest performer and has an old processor…the Kim Cattrall of calculators.
