hey guys, just took the plunge and registered for L2…after not looking at this website for months I guess it is creeping back into my life My work pays for one set of third-party materials so I’m trying to decide which to choose. I used Elan for level 1 and was happy with them but it doesn’t look like they’re offering a complete package this year. Schweser is definitely the frontrunner at the moment but I wondered if anyone had any reviews on Stalla? or Allen? Whichever one I pick, I’ll be combining it with the CFA textbooks. I’m looking for the study material that is clearest and easiest to understand. (not so fussed about it being condensed, just want it to be clear.) Also one thing that’s putting me off Schweser is that their website says all their online access uses Flash ie won’t work on my iphone (I assume??), so I’ll have to tote the books on the train. if anyone knows if the other providers have iphone apps, that would be great to know. thanks very much for the advice.
Stalla doesn’t offer L2 materials.
REALLY?? bapswarrior Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Stalla doesn’t offer L2 materials.
Do a search for flash usage on Iphone/Ipad. There is a workaround.
@BAPS - they do offer the material. I have the 2011 material of Stalla with me friend. I really like Stalla, provided Mr.Peter Olinto is guaranteed to be there for teaching. He is a wonderful teacher and keeps it interesting and bangs things on to your head. I confess I havent used Schweser or Allen or Elan earlier. But I am a satisfied Stalla user.
I passed Level I using the Stalla Enhanced System only (i.e., with video lectures) - didn’t crack the CFAI books. However, this method did not work for me last year for Level II. Peter Olinto is definitely the highlight of using Stalla (check him out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxurvsjFDMg). I’m planning on using Stalla again this year - in part because of the rebate they give you if you don’t pass - but mostly because they do provide a clear, concise explanation of the key concepts. I plan on reading the CFAI books as well this time.
All the best 5XEBITDA. I will be following the same thing actually. Stalla to just understand the nutshell and then CFAI to dig deep. Hope this works, fingers crossed
