CAIA Before CFA?

I know that the CAIA is usually used as a compliment to the CFA and not vice versa. But I was thinking of knocking out the CAIA quickly upon graduating from university next year to receive a more gauranteed certification as the CFA is brutally tough. Id rather have a certification under my belt prior to starting the CFA. I am interested in alternative investments so the more narrow scope is fine by me.

Sounds like you answered your own question, big guy.

#congrats

no one gives a crap about CAIA atm, I’d do the CAIA after you finish the CFA on your free time.

You might not be able to knock out the CAIA as quickly as you think. Alternative investments can be…tricky…lol

Here’s some advice - worry about getting a good job out of university as opposed to alphabet soup. Securing a job with a company that allows for growth into front office type role is infinitely more valuable than CAIA/CFA/MBA/CPA

Just do both… CFA should come before CAIA, much more valuable…

I did CAIA first, for similar reasons to you. It definitely made CFA Level I easier. All of Ethics and Alternatives course will be fully covered, some Derivatives and Quants…

follow your heart…

Yes, pretty much.
