So… I got my big fat positive today…and I’m preparing for my CFA level III exam this June. I’ll be in my 8th week and people say it may be very hard. Any pregnant women taking the CFA or took the test while pregnant? I’m literally freaking out now and need some advice
Why would this change anything?
My wife says ask if you can bring in plain saltines and ginger ale. It depends if you get sick much in the first trimester. My wife only threw up once. Best wishes!
Thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely keep one outside the exam room in case in need to drink some in between. Crossing my fingers not get extreme morning sickness on June 3rd
Morning sickness. No caffeine… etc
At week 8 you might have morning sickness and be extremely sleepy, but it’s not guaranteed, you might not have any sympthoms. I guess you are prepared, just go for it, good luck!
Dear Ohai,
I’m sorry but you are most probably a man, and you have no idea. Especially in light of your mission statement as being tolerant and understanding towards others.
You may be missing the irony and/or sarcasm involved with the quotes, or as you call it, the “mission statement.”
Why would this change anything?
hahahaha
When you are pregnant, do you go to work? Do you drive a car? Do you buy groceries? I’m sure it is an inconvenience, but it’s not like CFA is a challenge of a lifetime or something.

Morning sickness (worst in the early stage of a pregnancy) and loose bladder control does make it harder to sit through a 6 hour exam. To OP: Wear an adult diaper during the exam (speaking from personal experience, it helps when you’re pregnant and have to sit through a long exam).
I had no idea that or those posters above are female. Lol! Yet I am not sure only about Ohai.
I’m a father with two young boys at home. So I know exactly what you’re going through. Bring back pillow on exam day.

CFAI allows medical accommodation, but the deadline was March 20. However, I don’t think you have anything to lose by writing now.
I would write to CFAI and ask what kind of accommodations can you get.
