Does anyone know whether any part of the CFA curriculum or CFA review courses through third party providers qualify as CPE credits towards the CPA licensing requirements? I am a CPA in NY state and recently passed CFA Level I in June and am hoping to apply some of those long study hours to the CPA CPE requirements. I have been back and forth with the NY state CPA board and NYSSA but can’t seem to get a straight answer. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
I havent done it yet, but have been told you can write something in to get credit, at least with passing the test. I never did it on any of the levels, but a friend did. At least in my state (TX).
Check with AICPA, they are probably a little more on the ball than the state board.

I was told by the AICPA that it depends on the state where you are licensed. I used Stalla and they said that you could be awarded CPE credit, but that the state would only award it if you attended “live lectures.” I did the self study class so I can already see this is going to be a problem for me. I will let you know what I find out.
