CFA Exam Grading

Does it make any difference if I chose to appear for my exam elsewhere?

Do results based on country wise performance matter? It’ll be really helpful if you can provide some thought.

Yes. If you take the L1 exam in Pakistan, they add 5 points automatically.

Pakistan is the preferred testing site for many CFA candidates – only one downfall.

Are you sure those aren’t people who want to watch the latest game of thrones, but who don’t have an hbo subscription?

No guys, I’m very serious. I’m a CFA Level 2 Candidate, and there are like 5 days left for the test centre change. I’m based in Mumbai, India. Would it make a difference if I appear from the USA or for that matter anywhere else? I mean are there more chances to clear it at a particular country? Please advice genuinely, this is a genuine concern. I’ve heard many rumors, so don’t want decisions based on such rumors. Please help.

There is no difference. Why would there be? Its bubbles on a sheet that are fed in to a computer.

Also, are you related to mahatma ghandi?

Exactly what I was wondering. There are so many rumors regarding this that are so confusing! Apparently, US tends to have a higher pass rate than average. That was my concern. Thank You, though.

Hahahah, and no not related to Mahatama Gandhi-ji.

People with different opinions are welcome.

Thank You

This is completely not true! Its 10 points.

I don’t know how you know this information, but consider this: People from the USA speak english. The exam is in english. Also, Americans are awesome. 'murica!

I speak English, I can give the exam in English. :expressionless:

But are you a native English speaker? I don’t think so based on your sentence. The point is that pass rates for us might be 1% higher because we understand English better.

It’s also because US test takers tend to be actual people who work in finance jobs, as opposed to freshers who intend for the credential to propel them into new careers.

It actually amazes me that the difference is only a couple percent, ie https://www.cfasociety.org/bermuda/Documents/June%202010%20CFA%20Exam%20Results.pdf and

Except for ME/Africa. Those regions need to up their games.

Also, lol @ CFAI for mashing ME/Africa in with europe to hide the fact that ME/Africa are so bad at taking the tests. Also lol @ CFAI for stopping publishing the breakdowns.

I do recall seeing an article last summer about a record number of Chinese candidates registering to sit Level I in 16/17 and wondered whether that increase in candidates would bode ill for my cousin, who’s taking Level I this summer. If so, thank Christ I’m on Level II!

Thank You all for the pieces of inputs.

So how long are you going to be staying in the USA, op?

You are dumb.
