“The Department’s independent investigation concluded that from at least November 2016 through January 2018, CFAI set aside annual exam-grading positions for its members who required or had H-1B visas or other high-skill temporary visas, based on their citizenship status. The Department also concluded that, in doing so, CFAI failed to consider equally qualified U.S. workers for such positions.”
CFAI also sent out an e-mail from Paul Smith.
It is very difficult to understand the DOJ’s motives when CFAI’s grader selection process is clearly designed to match the nationality of graders with that of the candidates. I’ve graded in the past and have seen first hand that CFAI taps graders from a global pool of charterholders and does not exercise bias to the disadvantage of American workers.
this is due to the new era we are currently living in.
Who cares about that. This only matters in US daily politicking.
With zero-pay, will the graders be pissed?
L3 candidate is shaking already.
Must follow stricter of the two: local law vs standards.
They should consider moving the firm to Virgin Islands.
Wow, I never learned of this.
The CFA Institute appears to have high ethical standards for everyone except themselves.
