CFA Level 1 June 2012 Results

Congrats! on both the pass and the little one

You are exactly where I was at 6 months ago. Get back on it when you’re feeling ready to roll and dominate that test. You know what to expect now, and you know the subjects to put work into. Do as many practice questions as you can and you will pass.

Courage!

I passed! I’ve been on cloud nine since. Congrutulations to everyone who passed.

For those that didn’t passed, good luck in December.

A little late but… PASSED!!! Got my email a little before noon on Tuesday, worst wait of my life. Walking out of the test I honestly thought I bombed economics (did not study a lot of the new 2012 material) and quant since I suck at basic stat. I’m a little surprised about derivatives considering they’re my occupation and pastime =P. Had I failed I would have obviously been very disappointed considering I easily put in over 300+ hours and did over 15 practice tests. To those who did not, do not give up, take it again and I guarantee you it will be that much easier since you already went through it once. On to Level 2 in June 2013!!! Passed. Kinda suprised, though, because I was doing terribly on Kaplan/Schweser’s practices exams.

  • Atleast one round revision of the concept. Good luck!

level 2 here we come baaby. Will be registering in a month!

My results had 2 50-70s. none of the big boys :). The suspense ahead of the exam is crazy when some people start getting depressed n spreading their mood across. Well done players

Congrats guys…take a break and come back fighting whether it be another L1 or L2!!

Passed!

<=50% - Portfolio Management and Derivatives

51-70% - Quant and Corporate Finance

>70% - Everthing else

I think I was extremely lucky when I passed. I had 3 <= 50, 5 50-70, 2> 70.

Thankfully the ones that were <=50 were all the small topics; I saw someone’s post earlier with 8 or so in the middle band and 2 > 70 that didn’t pass… must’ve been extremely lucky…

Congrats to all that passed, good luck to all those that didn’t make it this time round and sitting the Dec exam!

Passed – all 70+.

But just fyi I am 37 and work in finance (I started my career in sell-side equity research) and so would have been really annoyed not to pass

As a reference, I got 75 and 78 on the cfa practice morn and evening exams. I didn’t read the CFA books but relied 100% on the Schweser books.

For Level 2 I am definitely going to take a course.

For everyone who didn’t pass, just work hard now and pass in December, and then you will be ahead of all us who did pass, bc it will still be fresh when you do your Level 2 studying in the spring.

Quite the nervewracking experience, as I was on vacation and 7 hours ahead of the Eastern Time zone. Luckily, I received the results around 4:38 (9:38 Eastern).

No idea how I got >70 on Econ, but I’ll take it. Ended up getting 70+ on areas that were my weakest for the majority of the practice tests (FRA, Econ, Equity, QM) and were the sections that I put the most time into in the last few weeks with the exception of Econ. On the flipside, my stronger areas (Ethics, Corp Fin, Fixed Income & PM) I ended up getting lower than expected and the <50 in Derivatives was a given as I put very little time into it.

On to Level 2!
