Yes, of course - BS prep recommends that you start a week or two before the L2 exam, so you’re already behind I’m sorry to say. You should start studying right away.
Put aside complacency, you can’t register for L3 yet, which means you don’t know the curriculum yet. I assume you want to study with past materials. And what exactly are you gonna study?
SS3 and SS4 of Level 03. Lots of concepts
Looks like you decided already, why bother with other opinions…
I just read the names of study sessions. That’s all
I recommend you take part in one or more of these activities until the L3 curriculum comes out: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g293961-Activities-Sri_Lanka.html
Nope. I think it’s too late. Better train for 2018…
Nice.
Who would want to travel and take fun when you can study for CFA3 !
Absurd.
wait for L3 curriculum to come out in August, and start then
while travelling
I already started working on level III, went through ethics and AMC now.
I applaud your optimism
On the other side, for the charterholder here, several of my friends said that Level 2 is the ‘hardest’ of all cfa test, is it true? Or it is just another cfa myths…lol
There is much important things to do now, instead. European football cup for example.
L3 was far and away the toughest for me. I struggled immensely with the curriculum and the test, and barely scraped by on my first attempt last year. The L2 curriculum/exam was very relatable/applicable to my career which probably made it “easier” for me. I owned my L2 exam (my possible score ranged from about 71% to 93%). They say if you’re in portfolio management, L3 is easier that L2… I am not in PM though. L3 was a humbling experience for me.
@Would You Look…
Thanks for sharing your experience. I expect that L3 will be more difficult to me as well since I am also not experienced in PM nor it is an area of my narrow interest.
Thank you for your answer, good sir.
I’m neither an equity analyst nor a portfolio manager, so i think L3 (IF i passed this one) will be a whole different beast for me. I think i wont procrastinate like i did with this one. lol
cheers
Pfff. As someone who just took L3, don’t buy into this at all. The AM session of L3 can and will cripple candidates. There may be less to read and the material *may* be easier for some candidates, but even the best prepared are going to have some difficulties on the morning. Just look at the matrices of those who do pass, they still get wrecked in the AM.
In L1, L2 and the PM session of L3 I had no issues with time, usually finishing with an hour to spare. This past Saturday I needed every second of the morning session and I would have gladly taken another 2 hours if given to me. It’s an incredibly difficult exam.
Actually what you should do is sign up for L1 again in December. Just to keep your skills sharp.
ps: I think I could probably skim through my flashcards a week before the exam and then destroy L1. That being said, L3 had better darn well be the hardest of the three or I want my money back.
