What does it mean when one says “I’ve cleared all the CFA levels at the first attempt”? Does it mean June-December-June or can it be June-June-June?
It can mean June16, June17 and June22. It simply means no fails.
No fails.
Also, it is December-June-June. Only level 1 is offered in both June and December.
That’s not a very impressive achievement nowadays. All the nerdy Asian kids pass on the first try. As am employer, I would be far more impressed if you complete one of these new age challenges:
-
Drink a large Gatorade and complete all six hours of the test without a pee break.
-
Successfully copy the answers of at least three other candidates without getting caught by the proctor.
-
Put a thumbtack on your chair and complete the whole exam “hovering” over your seat. Studies show that the #1 predictor of employee success is their dedication to leg day.
Based on my observations of various peoples’ leg development at the gym, passing your #3 criterion would eliminate most of the nerdy Asians from your employment candidate pool. Not all of those guys can be Hidetada Yamagishi and go 3/3 on the CFA.
Either.
Why do you care?

I predict you probably won’t pass on first attempts…considering you don’t even know when the exams are offered.
