One of my CFA professional reference got back to me saying that he typed out a summary of my work experience in a word file. He ensured it was less than 2000 characters. He then copy pasted it into the box where it asks for the same. It showed 9 of 2000 characters left, same character count as in word. However when he is attempting to submit it it says the section should not exceed 2000 characters. Why is this happening?
If I were to hazard a guess, I bet that some Word formatting is generating extra unicode that is showing up as extra characters. Have him save as a .txt file before he copy/pastes, and/or remove a word or two.
eg, instead of “apgo2000 is super-duper awesome”, he can change to “…is super awesome”
